A trial is the one chance to see your wedding look before the day. Done well, it answers every question you would otherwise worry about on the morning. Here is how to make it count.
When to book it
Book the trial once your outfit and jewellery are final, ideally four to eight weeks before the wedding. Too early and your skin, hair or plans may change; too late and there is no time to adjust.
What to bring
- Photos of your outfit in daylight, or the dupatta itself
- Your jewellery, or at least the necklace and maang tikka
- Two or three looks you like, and one you do not
- A list of skin concerns and any allergies
What to ask
Ask which finish the artist recommends for your skin and venue, HD or airbrush, and why. Ask how long the look will take on the day, and what time the team needs to arrive. Ask what to keep in your touch-up pouch.
What to check before you leave
Look at the makeup in daylight and under warm indoor light, and take photos with flash and without. Check it again after four or five hours: a good bridal base should still look fresh. If anything feels too heavy or too light, say so. That is what the trial is for.
Ready to plan yours? Send your date and outfit on WhatsApp and Mona will suggest a time for the trial.
